Special NotesBottled in 1922 with both peated and unpeated whisky matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.  Non-chillfiltered and naturally coloured. This is a new addition to our tastings.

DETAILS 

THE COLOUR ……………………….Light/toasted straw.

THE NOSE …………………………… Citrus/orange peel, White pepper.  Early hit of alcohol which dissipates quickly.

THE TASTE ………………………….White pepper, slight medicinal rather than full on phenolic, salty at the back of the mouth.  Salted Caramel.  One gentleman detected Spearmint.

THE FINISH ………………………..Sweet with a hint of peat

With some water……………………….Very smooth

Special NotesAmerican Oak ex-bourbon casks.
Strength43% abv.
PriceR1300-00. TH during his quest for untried single malts.  

The toast to “The Clark and the Jackson” and to absent Gentlemen.

DETAILS 

THE COLOUR ………………………….Amber, Light Terracotta, Tawny, reddish Gold.

THE NOSE ………………………………Very faint, almost flat.  Hints of toffee and lavender.

THE TASTE …………………………….Smoooth with ginger and black pepper.  Sweet but not overly so, light fudge and vanilla.  Somewhat dry on the front of the mouth but quickly smooths out. 

THE FINISH ……………………………A warm toffee like roundness 

With some water……………………………I cannot recall any of the Gentlemen spoiling this delightful dram with water!

THE SCORE ………. The Gents: 82 (All same score) with guest 82.5  

Another unusual evening where the Second Bottle was as good as or better than the First!

The Evening: the meeting closed at 20hr35 with the Closing Gambit with thanks to our Hosts and a special “Thank You” to Guki for the wonderful meal.
