Special Notes Lightly Peated White Port cask Finish.

The opening toast to Uisge Beatha, the “Water of Life”. 

DETAILS  

THE COLOUR ……..Light Copper. 

THE NOSE ………….Hint of smoke, feint alcohols, Honey, Floral, Sweet Barley and Creamy Toffee.  

THE TASTE ………..Medicinal and sweet.  Heavy alcohol on the mouth. Hints of Fudge and Treacle.  Hint of cloves on the side of the mouth.  Smokey and very complex with white pepper at the back of the mouth.  

THE FINISH ……… The finish is short and dry!  Definitely more than 43% abv and could be 46%…….how wrong were we! 

WITH  WATER………As usual it becomes even more smooth but we were surprised by the very high abv! 

THE SCORE ……………The Gents: 84.6 with guest 83.3.

The toast to “The Clark and the Jackson” and to absent Gentlemen.  

DETAILS  

THE COLOUR …………Medium Straw. 

THE NOSE ……………..Litchi. Very little alcohol.  Hard to find anything more, but eventually, Marzipan, Cherry and strangely, Cleaning Solvent.  Andrew submitted that it might be a Glen Ord but on further inspection ventured Glencadam from previous experience!  

THE TASTE ……………Cherry. White pepper at the back of the mouth. More than a hint of Spices.   

THE FINISH ………….Short Finish. 

With some water………More cherry! 

THE SCORE ………. The Gents: 76-6 with guest 78.5    Range 73 – 90.   

The Evening: the meeting closed at 21hr32 with the Closing Gambit with thanks to our Host, 

John and even more especially Sheila who looked after our “Inner Man!”
